Holiday Meals Made Easy
Posted on February 23rd, 2018
In this short, celebrity chef Tom Colicchio teams up with Microsoft to demonstrate the power of having Bing in your kitchen, especially when the holidays require you to cook more than usual. This was Del Sol’s first edit working with seasoned Producer Scott Sklarin. With Scott, time is always the greatest hurdle, requiring one to work quite quickly. The projects Sklarin spearheads like this have to be uploaded so thousands of media outlets have it for the 11 o’clock news.
Sesame Square
Posted on February 23rd, 2018
This short aims to illustrate the importance of the continued support of the Sesame Square TV show and the programs and lesson plans they have for educators in Nigeria. Working with Producer Veronica Wulff, Del Sol was provided with three days of footage as well as close to a dozen interviews. With such a plethora of shots and soundbites, Del Sol initially created a “radio cut” which compiled all of the important statements in order of appearance so that the client could confirm that the message was what they were hoping for. Once the message was clear Del Sol was able to inject the compelling storyline with equally compelling footage. Taking this approach streamlined the process of picking shots. Del Sol finds this to be an especially effective way to collaborate and communicate with clients when there is a need to edit through large amounts of material to consolidate the client’s message.

The Hyperloop one is tested and reaches record speeds, moving them closer towards their goal of faster, safer, cleaner transportation. I worked with legendary producers Marcy Simon and Kelly Carty on this project.

This video was made as an internal resource to welcome new WestMed Employees. The client wanted this to be especially polished especially when showing the facility. The inclusion of motion graphics allowed Del Sol to inject some excitement into otherwise bland information. Using floating 3D picture frames, Del Sol was able to show all the great attributes of their hospitals as an exciting ride through the world of WestMed employment.

For this beautifully shot promotional event video for Whirlpool Del Sol was tasked with making an engaging showcase of Whirlpool’s line of appliances and the many brands highlighted in the workshops and demos. Since this video was sans testimonials it was important to keep the energy high and show the reveals of certain showroom products gradually. Del Sol’s keen sense for music helped tremendously with establishing a pacing for the video and finishing this piece.
iab Conference
Posted on February 20th, 2018
One of the many deliverables from the IAB awards 2011 video package Del Sol created with Dean Thompson from Beehive. The conference featured exciting and insightful dialogue, especially with regards to storytelling in marketing, the theme of the conference and award ceremony. Thompson entrusted Del Sol with meeting the client’s aesthetic demands for the videos. The client desired for all the videos produced for the package to have a cohesive style which made certain creative decisions difficult. Del Sol acted as a supervisor to an animator for this project, he was responsible for conveying notes directly from the client to the animator for a fast turnaround.
Seagrams Highlights

Pernod Ricard has long been a giant in the wine & spirits industry. This project aimed to highlight the consistent growth of the Seagrams Brand and how it has remained influential in new markets. As a strictly internal video there was lots of freedom when it came to choosing music, which Del Sol did with ease, since he had completed a similar project for this client the year before. The client also signed off immediately on the motion graphics and animation Del Sol created, making this project a joy and a breeze to work on.
Roots of Life

“Roots of Life” is a collaborative project sponsored by The North Face Japan and Nanamica that aims to raise awareness of the current condition of our earth through the themes of “Nature and Color.” In this third installment one witnesses the awesome power of the sun as captured by NASA. Del Sol reviewed and chose all of the NASA footage and suggested various music for the images to be cut to. Producer Rajan Mehta provided footage he shot in Finland of the northern lights that greatly added to the theme. The lack of narrative within this piece presented the challenge and opportunity to craft this short as a composition of color and nature.
IShow – 2015

In this short the American Society of Mechanical Engineers conducts an multinational competition to help contestants get their products to market. Each invention or product need to fulfill a need within society. They present solutions for everything from reducing birth asphyxia to helping the deaf “hear” through body vests that send signals to the wearer when certain sounds are made. Del Sol had the pleasure of working with director, writer, and producer Roger Torda. Torda is particularly skilled at combing through the interview footage which left Del Sol more time to focus on finding the absolute best takes of everything else to support the interview content.
Inspire
Posted on February 20th, 2018
One of many projects Del Sol has done for Burson-Marsteller. It begs the question, “what inspires you?” The approach for asking this was to complete one strong statement by having these various celebrities, activists and educators finish each other’s sentences while informing us about the people who inspired them as children. I convinced producer Gloria Fusillo that this was the way to express how passionate those championing this cause are when delivering the message.
