Sister Kress Environmental Award

Posted on June 6th, 2022

The North Brooklyn Parks Alliance hosted their annual gala at Under The K Bridge Park.
The Event had several video presentations highlighting the great efforts of the women in our city that fight the good fight for a better tomorrow. Sister Francis Kress spearheaded the activism and awareness to our nations second greatest oil spill, in Greenpoint Brooklyn. Working alongside my adorable and insanely talented wife Lynn, we illustrated the story of Sister Francis Kress, through narration and the very limited supporting footage we could find of the tenacious Eco Warrior.

Janes Walk 2018 – Neighborhood Sol

Posted on September 24th, 2018

Inspired by urban activist Jane Jacobs – Jane’s Walk is a worldwide phenomenon of – absolutely free – citizen lead walks through the neighborhoods they love. Leading her first tour; Re-Zoning Brooklyn; a Waterfront Story is Lynn del Sol, a native New Yorker and twenty year resident of North Brooklyn. She’ll guide crowds through the two-mile stretch of land that makes up the sometimes contentious Greenpoint-Williamsburg Waterfront.
Along the way, she’ll dive deep – pointing out infrastructure projects, waterfront history, new construction, affordable housing, historic homes, landmark misses and the future of public access and public input in city planning. I shot this in three takes, or tours and edited this promo.

LB-1 EVLP

Posted on April 22nd, 2018

Lung Biotechnology’s Ex Vivo Lung Perfusion Center is the first of its kind in the United States. State of the art technology allows the EVLP team to work with fragile organs in a controlled environment,
continuously monitor the perfusion process and perform tests required to ensure high quality clinical data collection.

During an organ transplant, time is of the essence and Ex Vivo Lung Perfusion is no different. Lungs are explanted, evaluated, and shipped as quickly as possible to our specialized EVLP facility. The EVLP team works around the clock to assess the lungs, share data with the surgical team, and ship accepted organs to the transplant center.

The moment an Organ Procurement Organization (OPO) contacts LB-1, we enter donor and lung data into our CMX database. This gives everyone involved in the process seamless digital connectivity to the EVLP case. This digital management system shares information about the OPO, surgeon, donor, lungs, and the data collected during perfusion. The OPO, transplant center and EVLP team are able to monitor all stages of the process remotely.

Historians on Hoods

Posted on April 8th, 2018

Historian, Geoffrey Cobb, weaves Greenpoint’s history to it’s future.
Organized as a “historic significance” series that features an author or historian who reads passages from a book they wrote or tells a story about the featured neighborhood that we would then visually narrative through video footage.

Sesame Square

Posted on February 23rd, 2018

This short aims to illustrate the importance of the continued support of the Sesame Square TV show and the programs and lesson plans they have for educators in Nigeria. Working with Producer Veronica Wulff, Del Sol was provided with three days of footage as well as close to a dozen interviews. With such a plethora of shots and soundbites, Del Sol initially created a “radio cut” which compiled all of the important statements in order of appearance so that the client could confirm that the message was what they were hoping for. Once the message was clear Del Sol was able to inject the compelling storyline with equally compelling footage. Taking this approach streamlined the process of picking shots. Del Sol finds this to be an especially effective way to collaborate and communicate with clients when there is a need to edit through large amounts of material to consolidate the client’s message.

Eric Doeringer – Richard Prince Photo Workshop

Posted on February 20th, 2018

In this short highly acclaimed artist Eric Doeringer conducts a cowboy photography workshop. Using Richard Prince’s famous pictorial of the Marlboro man, Doeringer encourages the public to reshoot the image in the ad from their perspective. Del Sol produced, directed and edited this short piece. Del Sol sought to hear from those participating in the workshop, but soon realized it would make the piece lengthy so it became important to focus on capturing their reactions during the process. This allowed him to give more time to Doeringer to express his thoughts on his work while not completely leaving out the public’s response.

The Future is here – artBasel

Posted on February 20th, 2018

During artBasel Miami Beach 2010 Creative Thriftshop, with the generous support of 21c Museum Hotel presented Jeremy Dean’s spectacle performance endeavor entitled “The Future is Here.” For this short Del Sol hoped to present this wild performance through the eyes of the people who got to witness it traveling through Miami. He encouraged videographer Mark Diamond to ask one or two quick questions to anyone who got close to the “CEO Stagecoach”. His hope was to supplement the promotional material about the performance piece by capturing the awe, excitement and energy of its reception.

Roots of Life

Posted on February 20th, 2018

“Roots of Life” is a collaborative project sponsored by The North Face Japan and Nanamica that aims to raise awareness of the current condition of our earth through the themes of “Nature and Color.” In this third installment one witnesses the awesome power of the sun as captured by NASA. Del Sol reviewed and chose all of the NASA footage and suggested various music for the images to be cut to. Producer Rajan Mehta provided footage he shot in Finland of the northern lights that greatly added to the theme. The lack of narrative within this piece presented the challenge and opportunity to craft this short as a composition of color and nature.

IShow – 2015

Posted on February 20th, 2018

In this short the American Society of Mechanical Engineers conducts an multinational competition to help contestants get their products to market. Each invention or product need to fulfill a need within society. They present solutions for everything from reducing birth asphyxia to helping the deaf “hear” through body vests that send signals to the wearer when certain sounds are made. Del Sol had the pleasure of working with director, writer, and producer Roger Torda. Torda is particularly skilled at combing through the interview footage which left Del Sol more time to focus on finding the absolute best takes of everything else to support the interview content.

Diego del Sol is a contemporary tastemaker you want to work with. Seasoned with experience, but innately hungry. He’s intuitively ahead of trends and known for sussing out the very best content in media, tech and design since 2004.
